Sian Zeng’s magnetic Dino wallpaper wins the Etsy Global Design Awards due to how Zeng mixes surface pattern with children’s play.

Zeng creates movable magnets that are attached to magnetised wallpaper which can be moved anywhere upon the wall.

Zeng’s work is designed to spark children’s imagination and encourages interactive play and storytelling within the home.

Zeng’s designs are hand painted, she paints one brush stroke at a time, and each piece can take up to 10 months to complete.

After the design is completed she digitally uploads the image so that it can be reprinted.

After this, Zeng creates her unique wallpaper in four stages.

Firstly, she attaches the magnetic receptive liner to the wall, and pastes white lining paper on top, then afterwards adds the patterned wallpaper. Afterwards, a varnish is applied.

The whole process takes approximately 72 hours to install. Zeng also sells her paper without the magnetic liner.
