Quantum Flooring Solutions is constantly looking to improve and adapt its profiles. This system of review allows Quantum to continue offering its customers the best possible products, in line with the needs of flooring contractors and updates in Building Regulations and other guidelines. As part of this commitment to adapt our profiles, Quantum would like to introduce its new range of flexible PVC stair nosings.
These five new flexible stair nosings are engineered in such a way that, although few in number, there is one for every step type. QFSN 1, QFSN 2, QFSN 3 and QFSN 4 can all be attached to either rake back or flat fronted steps. QFSN 5 can be used with bullnose steps.
QFSN 1 and 3 are designed to fit with no floorcovering, QFSN 2 is for vinyl and other thin floorcoverings, and QFSN 4 is for use with thick floorcoverings such as carpet. Due to the feedback we have received from our customers, QFSN 2, 3 and 4 have 55mm risers and treads. This helps the profiles to adhere to the guidelines in Building Regulations parts K and M, along with BS8300-2:2018 and The Equality Act.
Quantum’s PVC Stair Nosings were previously only available in limited colours. These new profiles are available in all of our 24 standard tread colours. This offers a great choice for specifiers and contractors, although minimum order quantities will apply with certain colours. They are also available in 2.44m lengths. This standard length is better suited to the average step size, minimising waste and labour, and other lengths are available on request.
These flexible stair nosings retain all of the benefits of Quantum’s previous range. The tread and riser are the same colour, following the Building Regulations best practice solution. The quick and easy installation makes them ideal for a temporary fitting or lightly trafficked sites. No screws are needed, they can simply be affixed using Q-Fix adhesive. They are also easy to clean, and they offer great value.
