As winter approaches and the great British weather worsens we are not far off hearing more about Floods in the UK. Flooding in the UK has got and is set to get worse and be more frequent as the years go by, as a result of this we are and have to get better at protecting our homes and personal possessions in such instances. The risk is very real and as mentioned a growing problem with at least 1 in 6 properties in the UK being at risk of flooding.
As a result of this leading Lock Manufacture MACO UK and flood experts Flood Angel have developed a flood door system tested and certified to PAS 1188-1:2014. This system can be applied to a host of materials including UPCV, Monocoque composite doors and French doors.
The locking system developed by MACO used their Multi Matic tilt and turn system elements, bringing these together with the MACO C-TS combined lock has enabled MACO to innovate and develop a solution that offers additional perimeter locking. Coupled with the correct weather seals, the water egress is prevented.
This system has been successfully tested to PAS1188-1:2014 flood protection products and building aperture products ensuring piece of mind to installers and homeowners.
