Heights Leisure Centre, Isle of Wight

Case study

Isle of Wight Council identified a need for a sheltered cycle parking area within the grounds of their Leisure Centre in Newport, Isle of Wight. The Commercial Services Manager for the council contacted Able Canopies requesting a quotation for the Witton Wall Mounted Cycle Shelter which they had viewed on their website.

As the customer knew the product they required and the specification, a quotation was sent out for a 4.1m x 2.2m Witton Cycle Shelter.

The Commercial Services Manager at Isle of Wight Council was very pleased with the quotation provided and was able to go ahead with the order once they had secured funding for the project. A site survey was completed to ensure that the cycle shelter could be installed in the chosen area.

The concrete base for the shelter was to be installed by the contractors onsite, but there was a slight delay in the completion of this, so Able Canopies therefore re-arranged their installation date to suit.

Unfortunately, there was also a further delay with the installation due to some material being delivered to Able Canopies later than expected. However, the main frame of the shelter was installed on the requested date and Able Canopies fitters returned to site to fit the rest of the shelter, ensuring it was completed by the hand over date avoiding as much inconvenience as possible to all parties involved and the users of the Leisure Centre.
