Case study
Hammersmith Academy is a secondary school for 11-18 year olds, with specialisms in Creative & Digital Media and IT. The Academy looked to develop standards for academic excellence in a brand new building with state of the art facilities.
Utilising nora systems, the IT hubs had to have a safe floor which would not be affected by static, the general requirement for good slip resistance and cushioning underfoot was important, along with durable norament tiles, ideal for circulation areas. In all areas of this learning environment the noticeable sound reduction assists with the children’s development in a calmer surrounding.
BHM Architects designed a building which aims to develop the talents of all its students to the full and to raise educational standards, through excellent teaching and the innovative use of IT in this new build facility.
Challenge: Create a calmer surrounding with anti-static safe floor which provides good slip resistance and cushioning underfoot.
Project Requirements: Anti-static safe floor, slip resistance, underfoot comfort, sound reduction
Flooring Solution: norament® 926 serra, norament® 926, noraplan® ultra grip, noraplan® stone ed
