News

The world’s biggest get-together of all protagonists in the glass industry will once again be held in Düsseldorf from 20 to 23 October 2020. At the 26th glasstec, the International Trade Fair for Glass Production, Processing and Products, over 40,000 visitors are expected to arrive from 120 countries and in excess of 1,200 exhibitors from over 50 nations.

Applications to exhibit at glasstec 2020 remain open, and as the official UK representatives of Messe Dusseldorf ITSL are on hand to guide and support you through the application, preparation and exhibiting process. Space is becoming increasingly limited, so register your interest with us today.

Europe’s glass production continues to be the strongest worldwide, with industry sales totaling €13.3 billion in Europe (+3.9% against 2017) in 2018. European manufacturers produce around a third of the worlds glass volume, making Düsseldorf, located at the heart of Europe, the ideal venue for the world’s leading trade fair.

glasstec is the only show of its kind to cover the full spectrum of the value chain, showcasing everything from production through processing and finishing to final application and is the marketplace, trendsetter and innovation and information platform for the entire glass industry.

Renowned as the international platform that maps all innovations and market trends, glasstec will form the basis for the successful cultivation of new contacts with business customers, for the acquisition of new customers and for presenting your image on a worldwide scale.

In terms of content, glasstec 2020 will be all about the global challenges of climate change, resource scarcity, progressive urbanisation, the demand for further value added as well as about the contribution that glass can make as a material to increase man’s well-being.

In terms of products and applications, the flat glass segment will particularly focus on interactive glass and energy-efficient façades. In the container glass segment this material is quickly gaining importance as a packaging material in the food and pharmaceutical industry due to the current trend towards sustainability and glass’s inert properties. On the manufacturing side of things energy efficiency and reduced emissions play a decisive role.

Across a total of 9 halls, equalling over 67,000sqm the trade fair will have a distribution of the main areas:

  • Mechanical engineering in Halls 12 to 17
  • Glass industry and products in Halls 9, 10 and 11
  • Manual glass processing and finishing in Halls 9 and 10

At no other place in the world is there such a versatile, comprehensive and forward-looking range of products from the entire glass supply chain as there is at glasstec. Join us and set the course for successful business worldwide.
