EMERGENCY ROLE FOR CALOREX

24 Jul 2009
News
Dehumidification equipment manufactured by Calorex Heat Pumps is playing a vital role at fire stations up and down the country.

Calorex dehumidifiers have been specified at many of the UK’s 63 brigades including the Lambeth fire station in London where a DH30 is providing essential back up to the fire and rescue service.

The powerful unit is installed in a dedicated dying room at the station and works overnight on wet kit that, by the next morning, is dry and ready for use.

Heat pump dehumidification is a reliable and efficient method of solving problems of excess moisture and condensation that cause damage and deterioration.

Heat pumps don’t just create heat in fire station drying rooms; they remove water, helping to protect uniforms and kit from expensive damage. The standard Calorex dehumidifier recovers heat from the moist air and uses it to heat the discharged air. When additional space heating is required either unit can be supplied with an electric resistance heater option, controlled by thermostat. See the data sheet for options.

Wall-mounted DH30 and DH60 are fully automatic removing 30 litres and 60 litres of water @ 20 deg C, 75% RH respectively in any 24 hour period. The units are fully packaged, easy to install and can operate efficiently over an ambient air temperature range of between 5 and 40 deg C. These versatile units are suitable for a number of applications including:

• Industrial agricultural

• Warehousing/equipment stores

• Metals storage

• Pumping stations

• Spare part stores

• Museums
