ARDEX'S TILING SYSTEM ARRIVES ON SCHEDULE AT HEATHROW TERMINAL 3

When London’s Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 extension was granted, ARDEX UK world leaders in premium performance tile fixing products and support services, worked in conjunction with wall and floor tiling contractors Kingswood Tiling and the main fit-out company Rok, to deliver the perfect tile fixing and grouting solution for the new Arrivals Hall extension.

To fix the large format resin conglomerate tiles from In Situ within the new 2000m2 extension, ARDEX S 16 grey rapid drying and hardening wall and floor tile adhesive with ARDEX E 90 admixture was specified. ARDEX S 16 benefits from ARDEX’s ‘Rapidry Formula Technology’ which binds the mix water within the adhesive ensuring tiles can be grouted or trafficked 2-3 hours after fixing, and in addition virtually eliminates the risk of the mix water from the adhesive having an adverse reaction with the resin conglomerate tiles.

To conclude this prestigious project, the tiles were grouted with ARDEX GK grey grout for wall and floor tiling. ARDEX GK is a cement-based grout which has been developed with rapid hardening properties, and is ideal for internal and external use. Highly versatile, ARDEX GK is suitable for use with ceramic and natural stone tiles, extruded tiles, brick pavers and floor tiles with ribbed or studded surfaces, and can be used for joint widths from 3mm to 20mm.

"We were delighted to be commissioned for Heathrow’s Terminal 3 Arrivals Hall extension. By working in partnership with ARDEX we knew that their tiling products would provide system compatibility with exceptional performance, and together we delivered an outstanding result for this latest phase of Terminal 3’s development," enthused Bob Kavanagh of Kingswood Tiling.
