Trent Bridge Cricket ground is the latest sporting venue to benefit from the expertise of leading façades specialists, Alumasc.
Trent Bridge is home to Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and as part of a multi-million pound redevelopment, can now boast a new state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard. The construction of the scoreboard required a robust yet flexible façade to accommodate its curved and tapered design, for which Nottingham based Architects Maber Associates specified Alumasc’s Swistherm system.
Swistherm is a lightweight, thin coat insulated render system that provides an attractive and durable exterior envelope, finished with a choice of silicone or mineral-based top coat. The system comprises insulation slabs, fixed directly to the substrate and finished with the appropriate render. Thermally efficient, wind and water proof, Swistherm eliminates interstitial condensation and reduces energy consumption. Insulation slabs are available in a variety of materials, including polystyrene, mineral wool or highly sustainable natural cork for environmentally sensitive applications.
The highly flexible system offers a range of decorative finishes and over 400 colours and toning shades. ST Silicone is a traditional, natural, stain resistant and water repellent material, with ST Mineral providing a lightweight, natural alternative.
Alumasc approved contractors, K&E Peck Limited of Derbyshire, installed over 180 square metres of Swistherm to create a striking feature that will be seen by thousands during coverage of televised test matches at the ground.
Throughout the project Alumasc provided technical documents, samples for destructive testing, calculations and standard details, displaying further evidence of their unrivalled client support.
