Alumasc – Greener by Design

Alumasc Exterior Building Products has once again chosen Ecobuild to showcase the environmental benefits of its market-leading building products. Alumasc’s stand - number 1547 in Earls Court 1, will have a special focus on the latest initiatives in green roofing, rainwater management and thermally efficient façade systems.

Alumasc lead the way in the design and supply of green roof systems in the UK. An impressive project track record ranges from the UK’s largest green roof installed at the Rolls Royce factory, Goodwood to the extensive green roof for the National Trust at their new high profile visitor centre in Portstewart, Northern Ireland. The stand will feature detailed displays of alternative green roof build ups, integrating waterproofing solutions and green roof construction products exclusive to Alumasc. These include the fallnet ‘non penetrating’ fall arrest system, photo voltaic supports and ZinCo solar powered intensive green roof irrigation units.

Alumasc offers proven solutions that integrate rainwater collection, dispersal and reuse. Private and commercial rainwater management solutions are a growing requirement and the stand will illustrate how Alumasc’s interconnected systems can provide trouble free, automated operation, as well as saving up to 50% of non-drinking water use. Visitors will also be able to discuss the design options available to them in the light of proposed new legislation for the installation of rainwater harvesting systems.

The stand will also feature many other examples of Alumasc’s solutions for building exteriors. Visitors can review the energy saving performance and impeccable environmental credentials of the Swistherm insulated render system with Cork and discuss the undoubted benefits of Derbigum and Hydrotech waterproofing ranges. The rainwater and drainage sections will include Alumasc’s trade mark high performance gutters, Harmer soil and waste solutions and unitary outlets, all manufactured from genuinely recyclable aluminium and cast iron.

Alumasc operate under the ISO14001:2004 Environmental Management Standard and will be sharing with Ecobuild visitors its experiences of manufacturing truly sustainable products for the modern construction process. A comprehensive range of Alumasc literature will be available to take away from the stand, including the new Rainwater Management Systems brochure.
