Xpelair is launching the latest generation of Slimline kitchen and bathroom fans. With slender grilles and wall hugging properties, Slimline is probably the least obtrusive fan range available today.
So discreet is Slimline that the Guildhall in the Royal Borough of Kingston recently fitted the units in the toilet and kitchen areas of this 1935 listed building. Commenting, a company spokesperson said, “We had to strike a balance between the ventilation needs of the site, and the restrictions of working within listed building status. As a busy building housing the offices of the Mayor, the council chambers and the magistrates’ courts, there was very specific time slots during which installation could take place. Slimline’s wafer thin design and fast installation helped perfectly with these limited time frames.”
Designed for domestic and small commercial bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets, the Slimline SL100 has an internal projection of only 10mm, whilst for larger rooms, Xpelair offer the Slimline SL150.
For rooms without windows the Slimline SL100 is offered with a built-in overrun timer. Humidistat models are also available for heavy throughput applications.
Installing the fans couldn’t be easier – using the Quick-fix-clip system, the fan is secured to the wall duct without the need for wall fixings. Careful enclosure detailing means that end users are protected from exposure to live terminals when the grille is subsequently removed for cleaning.
These single speed axial fans are controlled by integral pull cord, remote switch – usually on lighting circuit, user adjustable timer or infra red sensor – dependent on model chosen.
For added versatility, the fans can be wall, ceiling, window or duct mounted to suit application. Each IPX4 rated unit fully complies with the Building Regulation requirements for bathrooms, toilets and kitchens and the IP requirements for zone 1 and zone 2 as defined by the IEE Wiring Regulations.
