Airflow Developments has celebrated its 60th anniversary. Originally founded in 1955 by Alexander Conner Wilson, the company has grown exponentially to become the leading provider of ventilation solutions. During its landmark year Airflow has announced a significant investment in a new showroom, to provide the highest quality display and training facilities for its customers.
Airflow Developments started from one man’s desire and expertise in fan design and air flow measurement. Wilson began by manufacturing industrial centrifugal fans and blowers, and invented the world’s first inclined manometer to go into commercial production. Since then, Airflow has established itself as a pioneering force in the ventilation industry, bringing to market groundbreaking products such as the Loovent domestic extractor fan in 1969, the iCON fan in 2004, and more recently, its Duplexvent commercial and residential heat recovery systems.
Alan Siggins, Managing Director commented: “Airflow has long pioneered the need for ventilation. Current legislation is in place to reduce carbon emissions by up to 80% by 2050, resulting in properties becoming increasingly airtight - so ventilation is more important now than ever before. I am very proud of what the company has achieved over the last 60 years but our focus is always on the future, and that is to create quality, market leading product solutions.”
New to market this year is the family of QuietAir, QT100, QT120 and QT150 extractor fans, which offers a very low Specific Fan Power (SFP) and meets Installed Performance. The iCONstant which is a continuously running axial dMEV (de-Centralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation) fan with an IPX5 Ingress Rating for both wall and ceiling applications, achieves market leading noise levels from just 10dB (A), and costs less than a low energy light bulb to run a year. Both options are ideal for kitchens or wet rooms and greatly improve air quality whilst also achieving the lowest possible energy consumption.
Furthermore, this year Airflow is making a significant investment in its training facilities at its head office in High Wycombe. Alan concluded: “As part of our 60th celebrations we felt it an ideal time to redevelop our showroom. I’m extremely proud to be part of a team that has gathered extensive knowledge and a vast range of technical skills. Already this year we’ve introduced two innovative, highly energy efficient options for the domestic and commercial markets - so I’m confident 2015 will be another exciting, successful year.”
