Workspace of the Future – New Space for New Visions
was the motto of the fifth international architects’ design competition organized by FAKRO
. Entries were tasked with designing a workspace of the future, demonstrating three innovative ways to use FAKRO
roof windows. Architects from over 20 countries including, for the first time, Australia, Iran, Greece, Ukraine, UK and Serbia created over 60 visionary loft projects for evaluation by an international judging team. Panel member Sabina Sujew commented, “Our final choice was only made after intense deliberation as the standard of projects was very high”. The winning €5,000 prize went to Katarzyna Furgalińska and Michał Lisiński from Poland. Aristide Antonas-Antonakakis from Greece took the runner-up prize of €3,000 while the Italian team of Fabio Damiani, Daniele Cremaschi, Marco Quistini and Silvia Pezzetti took the third prize of €2,000. Sabina Sujew added, “When evaluating projects, we took particular account of creativity and attention to detail. Ultimately, the project which combined the greatest viability and social inclusiveness won”.
