£350,000 investment in new equipment at leading timber merchants
Leading timber merchant, Arnold Laver, has invested £350,000 in new handling equipment to keep it at the forefront of its market.
The Weinig A7 Automatic Handling machine (pictured) will improve the production output at Arnold Laver Timber World, Mosborough – meaning an even quicker turn round in clients’ orders.
The machine – automatically handles the machined timber after it leaves the moulding machine at twice the speed that can be achieved manually. The new equipment automatically counts the timber, inkjets the ends, and straps and bundles the timber into various bundle sizes to suit customer requirements.
The equipment will improve flexibility and efficiency and improve stock accuracy.
The hi-tech machine can also automatically label the packages and count the end product –again, saving time and improving efficiency.
Andy Bowler, Arnold Laver’s Head of Operations at Mosborough, said: “This is a big investment for Arnold Laver Timber World – but it is worth every penny. The Weinig A7 Automatic handling equipment means we can enhance our service to customers even further.”
