Dashing Tweeds creates new fabrics and tailored menswear, working primarily with Tweed–the original sportswear fabric of Great Britain.
Dashing Tweeds is modernizing Tweed cloth by working with technical yarns in combination with wools. They do so by weaving technical yarns directly with Merino and British wools. One such hybrid material created by them is Lumatwill –a name given to hi-vis tweeds which have retro reflective 3M yarns woven in. They also integrate a variety of other specialized yarns into their tweeds including Lurex, rubber, silk, linen and Japanese cotton.
Along with their continuous process of looking at the modern world and creating original and innovative fabrics, Dashing Tweeds is merging modern sportswear with the traditional, and championing a whole new concept in tailored wear for men. The design process begins in their East London studio, where biannual collections originate as hand woven samples on their design loom, and later are manufactured by mills around the United Kingdom.
