This course of five evening sessions has been developed to encourage people to express ideas and communicate effectively by providing a set of visual tools to use in the design process. Designed to suit those with little freehand drawing experience - but probably not absolute beginners - the course is for people seeking to refresh and upgrade their sketching skills.

Beginning with introductory exercises in isometric, axonometric, oblique, two Point Perspective and Section drawing, attendees will apply these drawing techniques to quick improvisation scenarios. We will then work through exercises specifically to show how to draw two point perspectives from street level, 3D sections, axonometrics from plans and thumbnail sketches.

We will apply what we learn in the exercises to make freehand pictorial and diagrammatic sketches around a building. The course will be taught using a combination of demonstrations, short films, one to one tuition, exercise sheets and reference to contemporary freehand sketches.

Attendees are encouraged to progress at a comfortable pace in a stimulating and supportive atmosphere and will be expected to devote roughly one hour per week to homework assignments.
