Product Innovation in Architecture (PIA) and the Modern Built Environment KTN will host a full-day event at the BRE Innovation Park in Watford looking at technology in low energy housing.
The Park features a number of demonstration projects showcasing Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), near zero-carbon homes, and over 200 different innovative and emerging technologies. These include The Barratt Green House, winner of the 2007 Home for the Future Design Award, The Organics House by ecoTech, The Hanson EcoHouse and The Kingspan Lighthouse which has achieved Level 6 of the Government´s Code for Sustainable Homes. There will be also be an opportunity to view three new houses under construction for Insite 2009: the Natural House by the Prince of Wales Institute, The Renewable House and the four-storey CREO House.
The visit will include product innovation-focused presentations in the morning by BRE, Innovation Park partners and PIA members. This will be followed by lunch and a guided tour of existing houses and new constructions on the site.
