Named ‘The Carbon Buster’, the new building block from Lignacite is a British innovation, which has been developed by the company in partnership with Carbon8 Aggregates, using their award winning Accelerated Carbonation Technology.

Giles is an engaging speaker and Chairman of Lignacite; a family owned company that dates back nearly 70 years. It was the first block manufacturer in the country to introduce recycled and waste materials into its products, and Giles sees the Carbon Buster as an extension to the company's long standing commitment to sustainability. Dr Paula Carey, Managing Director, Carbon8
Paula is a Chartered Geologist, Managing Director of Carbon8 Systems Ltd.; a spin-out company from the University of Greenwich formed to research and develop Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT). Paula is also the Technical Director of Carbon8 Aggregates the company that has taken ACT from the laboratory to full commercial reality; using the technology to capture carbon dioxide and manufacture aggregate from ash. She was, for many years, a lecturer at the University and has expertise in waste management,aggregates, and rocks and soils for the construction industry.
