Engineering culture is as diverse and exciting as it has ever been yet the profession remains stigmatised. This exhibition will demonstrate just a few of the various paths a student of engineering might take.

Exhibits include the new Hyperride sports shoe by the Adidas Innovations Team, a monocoque bicycle by Burrows Engineering and Biomimetic structures by Professor Julian Vincent alongside examples of engineering work in the built environment by Buro Happold and Price & Myers.

The Building Centre Trust supports and coordinates the Engineering Club which was founded in 1992 by a number of local engineering practices as a way of celebrating the culture of engineering for professionals in the construction industry. Over 50 lectures have been held at both the Building Centre and Whitfield Street with speakers including Sir Clive Sinclair, Sir Alan Harris, Trevor Bayliss, and Mike Burrows. The aim is to encourage in particular young professional engineers to broaden their knowledge of engineering culture and technical developments.
