The UK has one of the largest wave energy resources in Europe. Allowing for technical, practical and environmental limitations, wave energy could generate up to one sixth of the UK´s electricity consumption and by 2020 the wave energy market in the UK could be worth £200 million.

Wave Hub is a groundbreaking renewable energy project in the South West of England that will create the UK´s first (and the world´s largest) offshore facility for the demonstration of wave energy generation devices.

This talk will focus not only on renewable energy and its importance, but also on the multi-disciplinary engineering that will go into the project: electrical, offshore, marine, civil and mechanical engineering, as well as fixed and wireless telecoms.

This event is free of charge and will be followed by a drinks reception.

Booking is essential.
