The Dylan Thomas in Fitzrovia Festival runs from 20 – 26 October with events and installations marking the centenary of the writer's birth.
As part of the celebrations, The Building Centre examines the space Thomas and other writers depend on to create their work.
Dylan Thomas Writing Shed 20 - 26 October
From 20 - 26 October you will be able to climb inside Dylan Thomas' writing boathouse. This bespoke replica of Dylan’s shed even has the curled pictures on the walls. Learn about his writing and explore his surroundings on Store Street South Crescent outside The Building Centre.
Exhibition: A shed of ones own 20 October - 20 November
A Shed of One’s Own is a photographic exploration of unique sheds with architectural significance and literary connections. From award-winning sheds in Hackney to weathered bothies in the highlands, this exhibition explores the importance of space - for creativity and inspiration - as part of the Dylan Thomas in Fitzrovia Festival. Opens on 20 October.
