This course is full of techniques and short cuts to improve your existing skills. We progress steadily from drawing simple elevations, sections, one and two point perspectives, isometrics through to more imaginative visuals like cut – aways and reveals

The Building Centre in association with D R A W I N G A T W O R K runs a regular Drawing Gymnasium workshop to help professionals develop visualisation and communication skills through drawing.

Drawing is both a tool of communication and a cognitive exercise that increases our understanding; you will learn ways to refine and improve scrappy drawings through application of correct line weight You will also learn how the right type of scrappy drawing, rooted in purposeful play, will help you visualize things from your mind’s eye.

The final class will give you techniques for working with colour (to clarify proposals) shadow, and texture in 2d and 3d to develop a distinctive communication style. Demonstrations and slide talks accompany the classes with examples from the D R A W I N G A T W O R K library of contemporary engineering drawings.
