Clients are increasingly demanding in their requirements for sustainable materials. Waste materials are fast becoming a route to meeting that demand and with the right development, good design and marketing products using these materials can compete with less sustainable alternatives.

This seminar takes us through the process of developing products with recycled materials:

Ivan Bennett, Research & Development Manager, TfL London Buses, on working with clients to develop new products with a featured case study

Stewart Rutherford, Project Manager, London Remade on sourcing and streaming available materials in the capital.

Jakki Dehn, Curator of the Creative Resource exhibition and Senior Lecturer, Kingston University on international developments in materials usage.

Richard Liddle, Designer Cohda on the development of a range of furniture from "dead energy" - also known as plastic!

The seminar will be chaired by Paul Chamberlain, Professor of Design, Sheffield Hallam University a leading centre for the development of new products in this area.

The seminar costs £45+vat and includes refreshments and drinks reception and viewing of the creative Resource exhibition, a collection of over 200 new materials and products from international designers.
