Countdown to Zero Carbon
Hanham Hall, Bristol, the UK’s first Carbon Challenge scheme.<br> Barratt Bristol with HTA Planning
A half-day seminar to explore the design options for industry professionals addressing the 2016 mandatory target of zero carbon in new homes.
The new UK Government has confirmed its commitment to ‘Zero Carbon’ in all new homes by 2016 and, following its recent consultation, The Zero Carbon hub is set to deliver its most recent definition and research at the beginning of February 2011.
The seminar will look at progress towards an official definition of Zero Carbon, how the Government intends to drive the agenda and how compliance will be monitored. How are designers, housebuilders and product manufacturers responding to the challenge? Leading practitioners will be looking at different models and strategies for achieving the targets. This first of 3 planned seminars will concentrate on building fabric with the subsequent seminars looking at service strategies and renewables.
