Highly slip resistant Grip Rock matting, supplied by international matting manufacturer Plastic Extruders Ltd, is being used at the Zaxos Grill in Vouliagmeni Square in Athens, Greece to provide kitchen workers with an anti-slip surface, even when covered with cooking oil and other liquids.
The matting has been laid alongside the food preparation and cooking areas in this popular souvlaki restaurant.
Grip Rock is ideal for preparation areas, fast food outlets and other locations such as this where oils, spillages and dropped food constitute slip hazards. The matting has a very low 3mm profile and tested to DIN 51130 and assessed at R13, the highest slip resistance rating.Constructed in three layers, Grip Rock comprises a tough and durable wearing surface made with ceramic and crushed garnet beads, a fibreglass interlayer to provide strength and a polyurethane backing which grips the floor and restricts creep. The matting is available in 12m long x 91cm wide rolls and also in 1.5m x 91cm individual modules.
