Weston Green School welcomes a Playrite pitch

Weston Green School in Surrey has recently been the recipient of a brand new Playrite pitch, which was officially opened by Sky Sports Commentators Martin Tyler and Tony Gale and former Professional footballer Phil Babb.

The new sports pitch at Weston Green School is an asset to the whole school with children from 3-11 years able to enjoy playing and training sessions on the new all-weather sports pitch.

The original area was prone to waterlogging and had become a very boggy area, un-useable for many months of the year.

Now installed with Playrite Conqueror 60MF, manufactured using a monofilament fibre this product has great strength and resilience to withstand heavy use whilst offering the same playing characteristics as natural grass.

Mr Mike Harrison, Headteacher, said “It is a great thrill and privilege to welcome former professionals to the school as they inspire the children to know that getting to the top is possible. The expertise of these high-class players here today and the new astro will help the children develop their skills and have a most memorable day which I hope inspires them for many months to come. We are committed to delivering the best and today certainly has done that.”

Mr Alan Dowson, Specialist Games Teacher and Manager of Hampton and Richmond Football Club, said “It has been fantastic to see our pupils at Weston Green enjoying the new pitch and having the opportunity to learn new skills from the Hampton and Richmond FC coaches. We are all very excited about using these great new facilities, to extend our on-site Sports provision at the school”.
