As part of a £2.3m refurbishment project, St Peter’s Church in Harrogate recently installed a double set of TORMAX automatic swing doors to the new glass frontage, offering clear and easy access for everyone.

Working closely with architectural glazing specialist, JCL Enterprises Ltd, TORMAX recommended using their powerful iMotion 1401 door operator to create a minimalist entrance that successfully enhances the traditional stone building.  Concealed under the floor, this low-maintenance operator has no abrading parts to cause friction and wear out, delivering exceptional reliability in the long term, even in busy locations such as this.  One of the most technologically advanced systems on the market today, the TORMAX iMotion 1401 operator is compatible with a standard 240v electrical supply making it surprisingly quick and easy to install whilst the powerful high torque synchronous motor ensures rapid response to approaching pedestrian traffic.

St Peter’s offers a packed programme of services alongside daily hot food for the homeless, placing it at the very centre of the community.  The TORMAX automatic swing doors were installed as part of a significant £2.3m refurbishment project managed by main contractor William Anelay Ltd and that included new community and music rooms as well as extended kitchen facilities

Facing directly onto the high street the new glass extension allows good visual access into Church, encouraging passers-by to drop in.  The automatic swing doors make access straightforward for everyone, giving a wide, clear entrance for the elderly or disabled as well as reducing the risk of bottlenecks at the start and end of services.
