High quality PVC-U Windows from public sector specialist Plastal have been supplied and installed to 100 properties in north Bushey, as part of Pine Ridge Housing Association’s refurbishment programme to improve the energy efficiency, comfort, safety and security of its properties.
Hertsmere based Pine Ridge Housing Association is a small not for profit social landlord.
Pine Ridge employed local consultants JW Construction Consultancy to advise on the procurement method as the Association wanted to achieve a high quality product at best value. Customer service was also high on the Association’s agenda.
JW Construction Consultancy recommended LHC’s OJEU compliant, pre-tendered framework arrangement for PVC-U windows and doors, to offer a ‘fast track’ route to implement the major window refurbishment project.
Following a mini-tender, Plastal was successfully appointed to work with Pine Ridge Housing Association on a supply and installation basis for over 760 windows, from the initial design phases through to project completion, incorporating resident liaison.
Says Lesley Culley, Chief Executive of Pine Ridge Housing Association: “There were many factors to consider in the procurement of PVC-U windows, not least our aim to enhance all of our properties and estates, and meet the needs of our residents as quickly and efficiently as possible.
“JW Construction Consultancy recommended the LHC procurement route as one way to achieve this quickly, and ensure energy efficient and sustainable materials are incorporated into any works contracts. The supply and installation has been very efficient and on budget, which is great news. Our residents have told us how much warmer and more comfortable their homes are now.”
John Williams, Sales and Marketing Manager at Plastal, added: “As a specialist social housing supplier and with the backing of LHC’s technical expertise, we were able to showcase our ability to deliver a consistent service to and clearly demonstrate a commitment to energy efficiency in all the windows supplied and installed for the ultimate benefit of Pine Ridge’s residents.”
