Mr & Mrs Tripp’s Orangery

At Totali Solutions we take great pride in our work, and we like to ensure that we leave our customers happy and totally satisfied with their new home improvements. Lucy Martin of Totali Solutions recently met with Mrs Tripp to see how she found the Totali experience…

Mr & Mrs Tripp embarked on a major house renovation in Winter 2013 to transform the rear of their Staffordshire village home. The project included an extension with an Orangery to make the downstairs living area more spacious and family friendly.

The Orangery element of the extension was extensively researched by the Tripps who, following many visits to numerous Orangery companies, had many of their own ideas to incorporate into the end design. The planning and design process was however made more complicated due to the house being a listed property and building consent had to be applied for.

Mrs Tripp said: ‘We approached Totali Solutions having already had a draft design from our Architect accepted in principle. There were additional requirements from the Conservation Officer in terms of facia detail, guttering and hoppers, and from the Building Officer in terms of the glazing UV rating.
We actually changed the original plan for the extension to make the whole area open plan to link in with our existing kitchen area. Luckily Gary from Totali Solutions was always at the end of a phone/email to re- draft the design and provide alternatives. He was very patient and understanding throughout as the design altered often, on a daily basis. It took some doing but the end result was well worth the numerous emails, design sketches and sleepless nights!’

Mr & Mrs Tripp discovered Totali Solutions at the Homebuilding and Renovating Show in Harrogate.

Mrs Tripp continues: ‘We had confidence in Jason Carey, Managing Director, Totali Solutions – who we met at the show, and the quality of the Totali product on display.
We were impressed with the manufacturing factory in Pontefract where we were invited to visit, and could see the depth and quality of the work done by his team.
Totali offered a competitive price and we felt it was all meant to be!’
Lucy went on to ask Mrs Tripp:

What is your opinion of the overall quality of build and appearance of your Orangery?
We are delighted with the overall quality of the build and it has enhanced the rear elevation of our period house. It is a very comfortable space to live in and we hardly use the rest of the house now! It overlooks our garden and leads off the kitchen so the space is fantastic.

How did you find dealing with the staff at Totali Solutions?
Totali were supportive throughout the process. The Orangery was one phase of our house renovation project so we were being pushed to the limit by many tradesmen. Jason, Gary and Debbie were always at the end of a phone. The on-site team were pleasant, hard-working, competent and efficient. We were amazed by the speed with which the orangery was erected – 800 sq foot, 2 lanterns, 15 large windows, 2 pairs of French doors in 6 days.

What would you say is unique about Totali, the services or way of doing business?
We feel something unique about Totali was the simple fact we were dealing with one team rather than a reseller or commission sales people.
What really helped us visualise the final product were the elevation sketches provided by Gary and his team. Totali were as keen as us to obtain an end result which we were all pleased with. We were treated as a valued customer which made it a much better experience.

Would you recommend Totali Solutions to others?
We would not hesitate in recommending Jason, Gary and the rest of the Totali team. We are delighted with the result and the Orangery is greatly admired. It has provided us with an enchanting room in winter and magnificent garden room through the summer.

Should the opportunity arise, would you use our services again?
