Mounting Systems completes 11.5 MW solar park in Jordan in record time

Within just 8 weeks installation time, Mounting Systems, one of the worldwide leading developers and manufacturers of racking systems for photovoltaic and solar-thermal power plants, realized a 11.5 MW solar farm on behalf of the Korean company Hanwha Q CELLS Korea Co., Ltd..

The project is located in the so called Ma’an Development Area with currently about 150 MW in solar parks under construction. The 11.5 MW project is the first project of that size installed in Jordan.

Mounting Systems scope of work during the project was planning, procurement and installation of the racking system. The range of services provided, included the development of an optimized racking system, including pull out and ramming tests, supply chain management, customs clearance support and transport to the construction site as well as the entire mechanical installation of the substructure. The system installed was Mounting Systems’ proven ground mount system Sigma I XL on ramming posts.

„For the installation of a solar park in a desert region like Jordan, it is absolutely crucial to pay attention to the material used and to the design of the racking system- especially under the aspect of the special weather conditions”, says Yiorgos Eftychiou Head of Sales EPC at Mounting Systems.

The solar park in Ma’an was installed at the beginning of the hottest time of the year with 45°C outside temperature and will still be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Which means that quality, a long-life cycle and the design of the system are of high importance.
