M Shed, formerly an Industrial Museum located on Bristol’s dockside, is a different kind of museum, a 1950’s marine transit shed that has exuberantly been brought to life and become an important visitor extraction. The museum incorporates a shop, learning space and café, and in its first year of opening (June 2011) the museum had 700,000 visitors.
Project Requirements: Suitable floor coverings for highly frequented museum areas that have to provide a good footfall sound absorption as well as high wear resistance. nora® rubber floorings are dimensionally stable and so can be installed without joint sealing – opening up a huge design potential including variously coloured inlays for the exhibition rooms. Installations without joint sealing give the floor surface a look of particular uniformity. nora® floor coverings were chosen for their durability, easy maintenance and excellent environmental properties.
