Air-open underlay for Leicester shoe factory redevelopment

Klober Permo® air has been used throughout the £14m Wheatsheaf Boot and Shoe Works redevelopment in Leicester. The site, which once housed the largest shoe factory in the world, saw the construction of  172 homes, all to a high standard of sustainability.

Justin Carter of Kettering Roofing explained “The Neo-Jacobean factory and clock tower have Grade II-listing and we proposed use of Permo air as clay ridges which were to be re-used were of a capped design. A ventilated dry ridge wasn’t practical and the air-open underlay retained the integrity of the listed building’s roofline”.
