I-catching roof terrace

Twinson® Terrace decking from Deeplas has created an i-catching outdoor terrace at one of the world’s most profitable technology companies’ European offices in London.

The company had recently acquired an additional floor at the top of the building on Regent Street, and was looking for decking that would create a modern, contemporary aesthetic for its new rooftop terrace. At street level, the company operates one of the busiest technology stores in London.

Located six floors from the ground and looking onto Regent Street and beyond, the decking area has become an instant hit with staff and visitors.

Twinson® Terrace decking from Deeplas in Slate Grey was chosen by interior fit out company, Modus, because of its commercial strength and natural appearance. The Twinson® Terrace decking is easy to clean and requires minimal maintenance, therefore keeps its appealing long term.

Aside from its durability and low maintenance, the specifiers were drawn to its excellent slip resistance as well as the fact it responded to the technology company’s environmentally friendly agenda by being 100% recyclable.

The decking is available from Deeplas in eight elegant, natural colours, including Slate Grey, which was chosen for this project because it complemented other building elements, and fits in with the company’s neutral-coloured branding.

All Twinson® decking is quick and easy to install using an innovative hidden clip system, which was a bonus to the client who required the project to be completed in a short timeframe. The lightweight yet strong deck board were able to be conveyed to the roof through the building, eliminating the need for a crane which would have required the closure of Regent Street and added over £25,000 to the cost of the project!

“This project is one of many where Twinson decking has been specified, across the country”, said Hazel Verschuere, Deeplas Building Products Director. “Its multi accreditations and long life expectancy make it recognised as the premium decking in the composite market.”

Installed by R.Dillon (Clacton) Ltd., Twinson® decking from Deeplas is made from a combination of wood and low maintenance PVC-U. This material retains the natural warmth and appearance of timber to create an inviting area for employees and visitors to relax.

“Our customers really like the Deeplas range of decking because it’s a natural looking product that is low maintenance,” said Craig Debrick, Managing Director at R.Dillon. “It’s extremely versatile and can work in any situation. The quality of the product means that we have no problem putting our name to it.”

“This project demonstrates the many benefits available to customers who specify our Twinson® range of decking,” said Pete Blackman, Business Development Manager at Deeplas. “The decking looks superb – it is not trying to imitate timber, it stands alone, and has created a real design statement that complements the ethos of this world-leading technology company.”

Along with Twinson® decking, Deeplas supplies a wide range of foam products that have a long established reputation for quality. The range is BBA (British Board of Agrement) and CSTB certified, and carries the BSI Kitemark. White PVC-U products are guaranteed for up to 20 years against discolouration, warping and cracking. Foiled profiles carry a ten-year guarantee.

Deeplas supplies to the UK installation and specification markets through independent distributors nationwide. The company operates a decking installer scheme and a roofline installer scheme.  The Deeplas Premium Installer Scheme is an accredited programme that ensures all its products are fitted by trained professionals to consistently high standards at its Tec centre at Alfreton.
