Cresswell Towers Holiday Park is located at the southern end of the beautiful six-mile stretch of sweeping sand that is Druridge Bay, in the North East. Perfect for relaxing or family fun, the holiday park offers a huge selection of top class activities such as water resort programmes, snorkelling, games and competitions, theme party nights, a children’s playground and a whole host of sporting facilities available.
The holiday park ensures that their facilities are up to top standards, and that is why they recently decided to updated their old tarmac tennis courts. The project was undertaken by Newby Leisure and included work with leading UK fencing and gate manufacturer Herras Sports Fencing (http://www.herasuk.co.uk/sports-fencing.asp) and surfaces by Playrite. Champion 24 was selected with a Matchpad underlay to cover a total area of 600m² including inlaid lines to mark out the tennis courts. Playrite’s Champion 24 is an ideal outdoor tufted Multi Sports surface that fits across a range of sports and comes in two fibre textures, Polypropylene or Polyethylene. Playrite’s Northern Area Manager Mark Waite suggested Champion 24 with Polypropylene due to its lighter pile weight. Installed over Playrite Matchpad shock absorbing layers created extra comfort underfoot and will increase playing performance for anyone playing on the court.
Newby Leisure based in Humberston near Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire project managed the court update at Cresswell Towers from start to finish. From design to installation, Newby Leisure has a wealth of experience in a whole range of projects, often using Playrite products. Neil Newby, Director of Newby Leisure comments how: “Playrite offer excellent service and often go out of their way to ensure we get the products on site when we need them.”
