The Burlington Danes Academy opened as an academy in September 2006 although this Church of England school has been educating children for over 300 years. In 2010 the academy opened two new facilities, the Stanley Fink Building for Maths, English and Science and the Dennis Potter Building as a performing arts centre.
As the experts in carpets for schools, Heckmondwike has supplied its Broadrib carpets to many school and college projects over the years. Over 500sqm of Broadrib tiles in popular colour Anthracite was installed in the new performing arts centre which featured an impressive a double height reception theatre along with classrooms, music practice rooms and staff offices. Broadrib was also used in the Stanley Fink Building which was built to add additional classroom space. Both buildings complement the main nationally renowned Art Deco Burlington building.
“ Broadrib tiles were the perfect choice for this building” said Heckmondwike’s Marketing Manager Abby Chandler. “As well as complementing the design of the building, Broadrib offers acoustic properties which reduces the level of impact noise, essential in a lively performing arts centre”
Available in carpet and carpet tiles, Broadrib is available in 24 colour options with 7 new colours recently added. Made in the UK, Broadrib carpet can be cut on site to cost effectively create individual floor designs without any risk of the carpet fraying or unraveling.
