Project: Aloeric Primary School, Melksham

Heckmondwike’s Supacord carpet have been used for a refurbishment project at a primary school in Wiltshire. Aloeric Primary School, Melksham, saw three of its classrooms refitted for free, after the school won Heckmondwike’s nationwide ‘Carpets for Schools’ competition.

The project, which took place  in August during the school’s summer break, saw over 100m2 of Heckmondwike’s Supacord in Blue installed across three classrooms as part of a four-day project to replace the school’s current tiles, which had been in place for as long as ten years in some parts of the school. “With limited budgets available we were wondering how to fund the new flooring we needed” says Matthew Nightingale, Head Teacher at Aloeric Primary School. “Winning Heckmondwike’s Carpet for Schools competition came just at the right time. The Supacord range was the perfect solution and we’re delighted with the end result!”

As the experts in carpets for education, Heckmondwike has supplied its Supacord carpet to many hundreds of school and college projects over recent years. “Supacord’s tough, fibre bonded construction has been proven to deliver thoroughly reliable performance, and people know that they can specify it with complete confidence, especially for this type of project,” adds Heckmondwike’s Marketing Manager, Abby Chandler
This rugged construction also enables Supacord carpet to be cut on site, so that individual flooring designs can be created without any risk of the carpet fraying or ravelling. This perhaps goes some way to explaining the popularity of the competition, which saw more than 160  schools, colleges and academies across the UK request samples of the new Supacord sample card.

“The popularity of the ‘Carpets for Schools’ competition is testament to the quality of our product and the reputation we enjoy within the education sector,” adds Abby Chandler. “Supacord offers a durable, attractive flooring solution that suits the needs of today’s schools perfectly. It’s strong enough to withstand high footfall while retaining its appearance, making budgets go further and ensuring schools and colleges retain an attractive and positive environment for staff, students and visitors. We hope everyone at Aloeric Primary School enjoys the new flooring upon their return for the next school year.”

With choices of 2m and 4m wide carpets, as well as a carpet tile option, Heckmondwike’s Supacord range is equally well suited to other types of application, including retail, office and accommodation projects.
