A £3.5M scheme in Bournemouth which was the first to provide dedicated specialist housing for those with dementia has seen Klober’s Wallint 50 Air Barrier and Solar-Line airtightness accessories used throughout.
The residential wing was built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 while the non-residential area achieved a BREEAM 'Very Good' rating.
Phil Goffin of architects Brown Smith Baker explained, “We wanted an air barrier/VCL to meet the British Standard minimum vapour resistance of 250 MN/sg and Wallint 50 met this requirement perfectly”.
It was installed on the warm side of rafters behind plaster stops in conjunction with Klober’s Pasto Sealant and Permo TR Tape. Pipe work penetrations through the roof were sealed using the Solar-Line Sealing Collar.
