Steel wire tray cable management from Cablofil is being used for data and power to help transform a listed former bank in Dublin into a flagship store for American fashion brand, Abercrombie & Fitch.
Located opposite the former seat of the Irish Government in the city’s prestigious College Green, the project will be the first Abercrombie & Fitch store in Ireland, offering three storeys of fashion from the global brand. It is not, however, the first Abercrombie & Fitch store to use Cablofil: the steel wire tray system is now specified for the company’s stores worldwide and Cablofil has been used on six others, including recent new stores in Vienna and Kingston-upon-Thames.
A wide range of Cablofil products including the Fasclic easy coupling system, lighting suspensions and steel wire tray in 54mm and 105 mm depths and in widths ranging from 50-300mm. The steel wire tray is being used throughout the historic building’s basement area from where it will come through the floor to feed cables to the ground floor sockets. Throughout the additional two retail floors it will be used in the ceiling void and as risers to accommodate armoured cabling for the main power supply, small power and lighting cabling and all the cabling for the store’s music, data, security and fire systems.
The electrical installation was completed in a tight four month programme, enabling the store to open in October ready for the peak Christmas sales period.
