Polysafe Ultima goes to work in Gary’s kitchen

Polysafe Ultima, the super-tough sheet vinyl safety flooring from commercial flooring specialists Polyflor Ltd, has been installed in the kitchens at Rhodes 24, top chef Gary Rhodes’ glamorous new home on the 24th floor of Tower 42, the tallest building in the City of London.

Specially developed for commercial kitchens and similar heavy-duty areas with intense traffic, Polysafe Ultima was installed by London-based Floor Logic - and has already impressed Rhodes 24 head chef Adam Gray who says: “The quality of the Polysafe Ultima floor is outstanding. In line with HSE guidelines, Polysafe Ultima achieves a sustainable 36 slip resistance (RRL Pendulum wet test - Four-S rubber) and meets the surface roughness reading of over Rtm 70m recommended to cope safely with all levels of spillage of olive oil, cooking stock and similar contaminants in kitchens and food processing areas.

Flexible for ease of installation, coving and welding, new Polysafe Ultima offers a choice of six practical and robust colours. Available in 2.5mm gauge, the flooring meets the performance requirements of EN 649 and, EN13845, the new European norm for safety flooring. Fully tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1, Ultima is certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 8kw/m² and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.
