Mystique river flows through Forest

A river effect design in low maintenance Polyflor Mystique PUR sheet vinyl flooring - from commercial flooring specialist and Contract Flooring Association Manufacturer of the Year Polyflor Ltd - winds its way through corridors and wards in the Albert Ward at St Thomas’ Hospital, London.

Created in Azurite blue via the Polyflor Expressions Design Service, which uses computerised water jet cutting techniques to produce a variety of precise shapes and styles for inlaid decoration, the river is inset into Polyflor’s Forest FX wood effect sheet vinyl flooring in corridors and into complementary shades of Mystique PUR in the wards.

The flooring was specified by architect Frederick Gibberd, of London, and installed by Romford-based flooring contractor J Fitch Flooring.

Non-directionally patterned Polyflor Mystique PUR - which has achieved the highest possible ‘A’ rating under the Building Research Establishment’s Green Guide to Specification scheme - is available in 24 modern colourways and features a high quality polyurethane reinforcement which, combined with a superior closed surface finish, facilitates a low cost, polish-free maintenance regime for the lifetime of the floorcovering, providing savings of up to 48% compared with untreated vinyl floorcoverings.

Polyflor Mystique PUR meets the performance requirements of EN 649 and, fully tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1, is certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1  8kw/m2 and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.

Quick and easy to install, Forest FX provides a choice of 14 highly realistic wood effects and features a low maintenance polyurethane reinforcement (PUR) which protects the floor and facilitates a polish-free maintenance regime.

In common with all Polyflor sheet vinyls, both products can be welded at the seams and to coved skirtings to create continuous impervious surfaces which offer no sanctuary to dirt and bacteria.
