Ashden Awards 2011

From 5 July

The Ashden Awards 2011 champion practical, local energy solutions that cut carbon, protect the environment, reduce poverty and improve people’s lives. Since the Awards were set up in 2001 they have become an internationally recognised yardstick for excellence in the field of sustainable energy promoting over 100 innovative projects.

There are 5 international winners and 5 UK-based winning schemes. They range from green fuel sources in the Midlands to education programmes in Pakistan.
