12 January - 19 February 2010
Each year the Department of Engineering at Cambridge University runs a photography competition open to all staff and students in the Department.
The judging panel look for images that relate to research or teaching in the Department or engineers out in the field, which may be beautiful, fascinating, intriguing, amusing, or possibly all of these things. Particular emphasis is placed on inter-disciplinary approaches that showcase the benefits of collaborative working.
The Building Centre has selected its favourite images from the last five years whose subject matter covers the wide remit of engineering from nano-sculptures to space exploration. Each image suggests future research avenues, new careers or the possibility of life transforming discoveries.
