Store Street

STORE STREET was conceived in 2006 through a conversation between Paul Hyett and Professor Sir Peter Cook on flight BA103 to Los Angeles.

It aims to be different from the usual architectural lecture scene in London. In particular it seeks to engage young architects - many from abroad - who want to be part of a chirpy form of salon, where all sorts of architects will come and talk to each other. There are brief presentations and even the odd 20 minutes of 'kiss-and-tell', but the key thing is the conversation between people often from the same country but from different generations or persuasions.

We plan nine conversations a year, usually on Monday nights. Often impromptu guests are only known a few weeks before the event, but we always play to a full house.

To date there have been 13 Store Street events, all playing to a 200+ full house audience featuring internationally renowned architects.
