Steel and the circular economy: steel reuse and design for deconstruction

The Steel Construction Institute, the University of Cambridge and The Building Centre would like to invite you to Steel and the circular economy: steel reuse and design for deconstruction. This event is split into three parts:

1. Dissemination of the findings from their recently completed Innovate UK study into structural steel reuse

2. An update on some related reuse and circular economy projects

3. Workshop: a more detailed workshop focusing on the philosophy and practicalities of design for deconstruction and reuse of multi-storey steel buildings.

Provisional programme

This stakeholder workshop will explore the motivations and key technical issues in design for reuse and deconstruction. The focus is the design of steel and composite structures for deconstruction and reuse. The workshop will be facilitated by SCI.

You are welcome to attend either or both sessions but booking is essential. Places are limited.
